Trusts

A trust is an instrument whereby a person directs how their property will be distributed upon their death.  A trust can also be an instrument whereby a person directs how the money or property in the trust is distributed to another while the person is still alive.

Revocable Living Trust

A revocable living trust (RLT)  is an instrument similar to a will where a person directs how their property will be distributed upon their death.  As the name provides, it can be revoked by the creator and thus provides a lot of control over the property.  A RLT provides some benefits over a will and may be a better choice in the estate planning process.
