It has been a while since I blogged here. This story caught my eye today and I felt a need to pass it along. A pageant winner is missing her forearm. She did not let the disability stop her. She won the Miss Iowa pageant and will go on to compete in the Miss USA pageant. She stated: .“Giving voice to a platform is a great honor and I am excited to continue my adventure of speaking out and touching lives.”
This is awesome. We need more people speaking out about people with special needs. As Miss Iowa stated in the story, she would be stared at by just about everyone. Anyone with a physical disability knows what this feels like. It is not pleasant. It is hurtful. She describes how she overcame this issue. Way to go, Nicole!
