William (Bill) J. Wickward, Jr., Attorney at Law, is a Durham lawyer representing clients in a variety of legal matters in Durham, Raleigh and and throughout North Carolina. He graduated cum laude from North Carolina Central School of Law. While in law school he was a member of the Moot Court Board and participated in appellate competitions. He was involved in the North Carolina Central University Law School’s chapter of the American Trial Lawyers Association.
He worked full time as a paralegal and attended law school in the evening program. He has the dedication and work ethic to tackle your legal matter. He has resided in North Carolina since 1997.
After graduation, Bill began working for a firm in Raleigh representing Social Security disability claimants and Veteran’s Affairs claimants. He later worked at Merritt, Webb, Wilson and Caruso in Durham, NC where he continued to represent clients in these areas as well as other areas of law.
Bill is a strong and passionate advocate for people with disabilities, particularly children. Bill and his wife have a teenage son with special needs and have experienced first hand the legal challenges associated with having a family member with special needs. His son, David, made it as a finalist on the TV show “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?”.
Bill has represented children with disabilties in a variety of settings, including Social Security disability claims, disputes with the NC Department of Health and Human Services for equipment needed to assist with daily activities, and the implementation of and accompanying parents to meetings with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in schools.
Bill represents clients for autmobile accidents. He has represented clients with traffic tickets and unemployment claims. Bill has represented or consulted clients on various matters including family law, criminal, contract review and disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, worker’s compensation, and other general civil matters.

Bill is currently assisting Bridge II Sports in their endeavor to bring more awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities, particularly in sporting activities.
